Hunter Manning Group

The Hunter Manning Group of The Institution of Surveyors NSW Inc was formed in 1957, and in 2007 celebrated 50 years of service to surveyors in the region

The group represents surveyors centred around Newcastle and as far afield as Maitland, Muswellbrook and Singleton to the West in the Hunter Valley, Taree to the North in the Manning Valley, and Tuggerah, Wyong and Gosford to the South on the Central Coast

The group holds regular Continuing Professional Development (CPD) seminars on a variety of topics, including cadastral, and survey practice and in recognition of the extensive industrial undertakings in the region, engineering. Popular events include the April Cadastral seminar, the Kurri Kurri seminar and dinner, held annually in May in conjunction with the Board of Surveying and Spatial Information, and the Engineering and Mining Surveying seminar held in September.

A notable part of the annual calendar is the awarding of the Hunter Manning Surveyor of the Year. In recognition of service to the community and profession, the prestigious award is presented before the recipient’s peers at one of the CPD events, each year.

Membership of the group is open to ISNSW members who reside within the geographical region.
