The Institution of Surveyors NSW (ISNSW) has represented land, engineering and mining surveying professionals in NSW since 1891 and has established itself as an influential leading body.

Our mission is to meet the changing needs of surveyors and the community in managing land resources through our leadership of the profession.

The Role

The Membership and Communications Officer will play a key role in strengthening and growing ISNSW membership.

This newly developed role will focus on enhancing the existing member experience and developing, implementing and reviewing an effective and sustainable membership program. Our membership requires programs and communications tailored to drive up member engagement across the membership resulting in a tangibly felt rise in the member value proposition.

In addition, the Membership & Communications Officer will be responsible for implementing strategically developed new and diversified income streams.

This role will also be responsible for developing and implementing social media campaigns across various platforms to improve engagement with younger audiences and foster those relationships to improve retention. It is important that strategies be adopted to ensure the transition from free student member to paying member.

REQUIREMENTS

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or equivalent.
  • Strong background in membership, loyalty or engagement marketing.
  • Proven experience in implementing high performing marketing/membership strategies.
  • Experience and understanding of CRM systems and analysis of data information.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the role of memberships within a professional organisation.
  • Ability to take minutes at committee meetings.
  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder relationship management and strategic communications.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and evaluating the effectiveness of communications strategies.
  • Capacity to think spontaneously, work proactively, respond positively to pressure, manage complex projects in a timely fashion.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and relationship management skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically for short periods and attend out of hours events.
