The North Coast Group was formed in 1974 and represents approximately 100 members of ISNSW stretching from Laurieton in the south to the Queensland border and out beyond the Great Dividing Range to Tamworth and Moree, an area about the size of Tasmania. The majority of our members are located along the coastal strip which is one of the fastest growing regions of the state. Major towns include Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour, Grafton and Ballina. The NSW Department of Planning has predicted the area will grow by around 30% over the next 25 years.
The Group organises at least three events each year including its two day conference which is moved around the major centres of the region. Membership of the group is open to ISNSW members who reside within the geographical region.
The NSW Excellence in Surveying and Spatial Information Awards have been going since 1998 and in that time North Coast Group members have been well represented and equally successful with at least three (3) Sir Thomas Mitchell Award winners, one Professional Surveyor of the Year, numerous category winners and a number of highly commended entries.
