Parliamentary Luncheon
Since 2002, the Seniors Group has arranged an annual Luncheon in The Strangers Dining Room at Parliament House, Sydney.
The Luncheon is held annually in February to facilitate attendance by the host Parliamentarian while Parliament is in recess.
The purpose of the function is to promote the surveying profession to members of parliament, to members of the surveying profession and to interested kindred professionals by arranging a luncheon in a prestige location with a high standard of presentation and an eminent speaker to address the participants on a topic of current general interest to surveyors, their partners and guests.
The function has broadened in recent years from providing an opportunity for fellowship between older members of the surveying profession and their partners, to include students from surveying schools whose attendance is sponsored to facilitate their acquaintance with their older colleagues and their experience in such functions.
The high culinary standard and presentation of the meals and the excellence of presentations by the guest speakers has established the function as the premier social event in the Group's calendar and a highlight in the Institution's calendar.
