What can a surveyor do in the future, for our world? The current education of professional surveyors develops expertise in measurement science and skills in land administration management. The present & future focus on emergency, risk and disaster management has placed more emphasis on the accuracy standards of spatial information, which is the forte of the modern surveyor.
As the supply of fossil fuels diminishes and the demand for energy increases, society has started to become smarter about the use of that energy; the developments of the future have to be eco friendly or more sustainable. Surveyors will play an active and increasing role in the development of our future ecologically sustainable developments; governments and society will demand that solar access to properties is a greater priority and we maximise the effective use of every square metre of our homes and the land they stand on.
The surveyors' place in our society is guaranteed as long as that society continues to progress. |
