In its early days, the Association's purpose was to keep the "lines of communication open" in both a professional and a social sense: it was one of the first “peer support” groups before the term became trendy.

Today, as in those early years, the MRSA continues to reduce the isolation of a geographically diverse group but, as surveyors develop their skills into other areas of the Authority, it has also matured into a role which binds together those of us with a common professional background.
